The Stourbridge Canal is a 6 mile long stretch of canal, linking Dudley No1 Canal with the Staffordshire and Worcestershire Canal. An important part of the puzzle in the maze that is the Birmingham canal network!
There are 16 locks along the Stourbridge Canal in total, with most of them clustered together as ‘Stourbridge Locks’ around Buckpool.
If you do paddle this stretch, make sure you head to Stourbridge Locks. Here, you can enjoy one of the last remaining red house glass cones.
You can learn more about glass making as well as exploring the underground tunnels here too… definitely one to keep the kids amused with!
With a restored towpath along the full stretch of the canal, it makes for a perfect family day out with plenty to keep everyone engaged, whether walking or paddling.
