The Afon Tyweryn is a river in North Wales. It primarily flows through Gwynedd, and is known for its stunning natural surroundings within the Snowdonia National Park. The river is about 13 miles (21 km) long, originating in the Cwm Tyweryn valley and eventually draining into Bala Lake (Llyn Tegid).

One of the key features of the Afon Tyweryn is that it serves as a water source for Wrexham, with water being diverted from the river via the Llyn Celyn reservoir. The creation of this reservoir in the 1960s, which submerged parts of the Tyweryn valley, led to protests due to its effect on local communities.
