Not far from Cockermouth and surrounded by rolling hills, mountains and fells, Loweswater is one of the smaller Lake District bodies of water.
At just over a mile long and a third of a mile wide it is compact paddle. It is also one of the more peaceful places to paddle in the area.
Away from the crowds, you’ll find the perfect day trip on Loweswater and as you paddle the quieter parts of the Lake District National Park.
There’s plenty to do and see at the lake, not just paddle. Make a day of it. Plan a day long adventure. Chuck in some hiking too. The woodlands which surround the lakes are populated by deer and the beautiful red squirrel.
As mentioned, it’s one of the smaller lakes to paddle in comparison to popular Windermere, but still an adventure! So, ensure ensure you’ve planned well ahead and got an idea of where you’re paddling.
