The Caledonian Canal stretches from Corpach, near Fort William, on the east coast, to Inverness, on the west. It provides a variety of paddling experiences, including lochs, rivers, and canal segments. Some popular launch points are:
Gairlochy, near Spean Bridge, Fort Augustus, at the southern tip of Loch Ness and Dochgarroch, near Inverness.

The canal features several locks and swing bridges, which might require portaging or coordination with lock keepers. Certain sections of the canal may also have restrictions during maintenance or events. For more details, please refer to our section on bridges and locks.
