The Isle of Portland Canoe Club is a lively, active and friendly club based in a fantastic location on the Jurassic Coast of West Dorset. The club is affiliated to the British Canoeing – the Sports Governing Body. The opportunities for paddling on our doorstep in Dorset are endless and we are also close to surfing beaches and white-water rivers. The club offers a varied activity programme throughout the year including open water sea trips, short coastal paddles, surfing and white-water trips. The club welcomes paddlers over the age of 18. You should be of a standard similar to old British Canoeing 2 star award (being able to control a kayak/ paddle in a straight line/ turn etc..). It is not necessary to gain the award. Please contact us regarding this training. In the winter months we can carry out our own assessments on new members at an indoor pool at Bridport and in the the summer months we use the safe waters of Portland Harbour. This friendly open club and welcomes new members who are interested in paddling for fun and fitness and to enjoy the experience in good company.
