The ClubView Larger MapThe club was formed in 1982 by Tony Pell and is run by an enthusiastic Management Committee supported by several qualified coaches.  at the bottom of the page for a list of the current year's officials. We are a family club and we actively encourage parents, friends and canoeists of all ages and abilities to join in the fun.The map on the right shows where we are based: The Ancholme Lesiure Centre,Scawby Brook, Brigg, North Lincolnshire, DN20 9JH.PaddlingFrom April to September we paddle on the River Ancholme, meeting in our new boathouse just behind the Ancholme Lesiure Centre. From October to March we paddle in the Pool at the Ancholme Lesiure Centre. We actively promote most canoeing activities such as white water, canoe polo and marathon, sprint and slalom racing. We also cater for the tourer on river trips and weekends away are regularly organised throughout the year.British CanoeingThe club is affiliated to the British Canoeing, which is the national governing body of our sport. This ensures that all members of the club, whether canoeists or otherwise, are covered by insurance at all club events. However, if a paddler wishes to enter competitions outside the club, i.e. slalom, marathon or canoe polo, they would be well advised to have individual BC membership. In fact, for some competitions it is a condition of entry.Club Membership FeesClub membership fees are due at the end of December each year. These cover the club's overheads, including BC affiliation fees, boat licences for the River Ancholme and for the running costs for the boathouse. At present membership fees are £10 per person per year. Individual BC membership is extra and is obtained directly from the British Canoeing. Safety, Child Protection and LegalThe club take your safety, child protection and legal issues seriously. However canoeing is an Assumed Risk Sport that may carry attendant risks.
