Cadet Centre for Adventurous Training

Expeditions and Adventurous Training (ACE AT) are a valuable and integral part of Army Cadet Training. These activities, delivered in an imaginative, well-structured, and safe manner, provide significant personal, team and leadership development benefits, some of which may not be immediately apparent. ACE AT can be challenging and arduous at times, requiring courage, determination, and self-discipline to succeed. These are qualities the organisation needs in its members and society requires of its citizens. ACE AT activities also develop physical and mental robustness whilst exposing our cadets and Cadet Force Adult Volunteers (CFAVs) to controlled risk, enabling them to develop risk management strategies and creating independent and responsible people. In addition, ACE AT activities are a very effective mechanism for recruiting and retaining older cadets and encourages their transition to becoming CFAVs.
