Southbourne Canoe Club has been in existence for many decades and accommodates beginners and intermediate paddlers. Weekly evening paddles from late April to September are on the river at Christchurch and into the Harbour, as well as short sea paddles out through the Harbour entrance along Hengistbury Head. Fortnightly paddles through the winter include alternating night paddles and weekend day paddles. Trips further afield, whether long days out or weekends away camping, are a mixture of flat water canal paddles, river paddles, open inland water and sea paddles.
