Friendly canoe and kayak club - flatwater and white waterWe are a friendly club based on Regent's Canal, near Angel. We run club sessions on Monday and Thursday evenings, where members can use our kayaks and canoes to explore City Road basin and practice their flatwater paddling skills. We also have a very active white water community and run trips at least once a month, often more, to run rivers in Wales, Dartmoor, and the Lake District. Every summer we run a week long trip to the Southern French Alps and each autumn we organise a week in Scotland (Fort William) for our more experienced members to make the most of the rain. We are a supportive club and welcome new members who have never tried kayaking or canoeing before. We have all the equipment you'll need to get started and we have a culture of members supporting each other to progress. We offer pool sessions once every two weeks at Britannia Leisure Centre to practice underwater or upside-down skills in a warm and safe environment, which is often followed by a trip to the pub for chips and a drink. Our members can often be found at Lee Valley White Water Centre on the weekends between trips, on both the Legacy and Olympic courses. There are a group of novice but enthusiastic play boaters who organise day trips to Hurley Weir, Holme Pier Point and more recently some beaches on the south coast. We've got it all going on!
