Adventurous and Social Outdoor Activities in Bristol and Beyond Based in Bristol, Bath (South West England, UK) and surrounding areas, Avon Outdoor Activities Club (AOAC) is an outdoor pursuits club that is open to adults and is run on a non-profit basis for and by the members. Activities are suitable for all levels, from complete novice to consummate expert. Whatever your taste for adventure, you’ll find it in AOAC. The main benefits of membership include: Variety - Unlike most clubs our members have the opportunity to enjoy a whole range of activities including canoeing and kayaking; walking and mountaineering; road, trail and mountain cycling; rock climbing; skiing and sailing. Low Cost - Events are organised on a non-profit basis and are financially underwritten by the club ensuring that members don’t end up out of pocket if something unforeseen happens. And if all of that isn’t enough the club is just £30 per year to join! People Like You - We have members in all age ranges and from all walks of life. What our members share is a love of being in the great outdoors and sharing their experiences with others. We are a very sociable club. Coaching - We run formal coaching sessions, that follow National Governing Body guidelines, such as the British Canoeing awards in canoeing and kayaking. Development - If you are already or want to become an outdoor activities leader the club can provide opportunities to practise and may subsidise your external training costs. Equipment - We have a range of equipment for members to hire at very low cost. This includes, canoes, kayaks, mountain bikes, tents, and a plethora of general kit. Organisation - Events are organised by experienced members who know what they are doing. All needs are catered for and the faff factor is low! Safety - All of our events and activities are led by qualified and experienced leaders or coaches with years of experience and up to date first aid skills.
