Grade: 3-5
The Upper River Duddon is the highest graded section ranging from Grade 4 to 5 in high water. The middle and lower sections are generally considered Grade 3.
A popular river with white water lovers, the Duddon can be found in the Lake District National Park. There are several graded sections on the Duddon, from grade 3 to grade 5+. For this reason, it is important that you check water levels and paddle in waters suitable for your experience and skill level.
The river rises near Wrynose Pass in the Lake District and descends over the course of 15 miles. It then empties into the Irish Sea at Duddon Sands. Most of the river cuts through the picturesque fells of the Lake District too, meaning wow factor from the river is pretty high!
